A wonky doodle drawn on my lap at today’s BUST fair
I was asked by Julia Rothman to contribute an illustration to an upcoming book The Who, The What and The When: 65 Artists Illustrate the Secret Accomplices of History. The book will focus on the people behind famous figures.
I was assigned Anna Dostoyevskaya, the second wife of Fyodor Dostoyevsky. She’s often regarded as Russia’s first business woman, setting up a successful publishing business after Fyodor had lost most of their money and belongings playing roulette. She was also a dedicated philatelist - which is a fancy word for a stamp collector!
Issue 18 of Oh Comely is out now, it’s great and also my last as Illustration Editor. It’s been an amazing 3 years working with such a unique publication but it just feels right to move on at this point in time.
There’s an interview and a showcase of my work in there as well as some great illustration from the likes of Ellen Surrey, Hannah Warren, Michael Parkin and Livi Gosling. ♥
I was recently asked to illustrate some characters for Office Shoes to accompany their Christmas giftfinder.
It was a really fun and open project, you can now see the whole cast of characters here!
I made a zine! It’s 28 pages of work I’ve produced over the past year or so held together with a two colour screenprinted cover.
*EDIT: i’ve sold out of all online copies of the zine, but will be selling a few at the BUST Craftacular and releasing a new zine in Dec/Jan! Thanks to all who bought one!*
sunday night WIP. I’m very tired
Screenprinted a load of covers for a zine I’m making to sell at Comiket next Saturday 2nd Nov at Central St. Martins - they came out real nice, yep
